On Monday 26th March our Development Chefs headed over to the University of West London for the ‘Future Plates’ event, the event was aimed at encouraging budding chefs to cook more plant-based dishes and meet industry professionals. Throughout the day students were networking with industry leaders and influencers to explore the role of chefs in transforming culinary culture and to help shape the curriculum of the future.
Our food development team prepared lunch for 120 delegates with the help of ten students from the University, Tom Bradley was serving up his jerk Quorn & jack fruit curry which won ‘Best in Class’ in the vegan challenge at Hotelympia on 7th March. Additionally, Tom did four 15-minute demonstrations re-creating the dish for the delegates and students after lunch.
The organiser of the event said, “Thank you so much for organising such a fantastic lunch – it was the main talking point of the whole day!”
Simon Billing from Forum for the Future said “I just wanted to echo some big thanks from us for pulling off a terrific lunch on topic. It brings the conversation back to enjoying food, which is the critical bit for me. I think that is the best tofu I have tasted so do send a link to the recipe!“
