Lexington Win Best Chef Development Strategy

Lexington Catering were named the winner of the Best Chef Development Strategy at the Springboard Awards of Excellence. The awards, recognising those who have made a significant contribution to attracting and retaining employees, took place at Chelsea Football Club on Monday 9th February.

Lexington’s chef development strategy includes working with the likes of Springboard to engage with young people and attract aspiring chefs onto our apprenticeship scheme; Lex School of Talent and working with Universities and engaging with the industry more widely to promote Contract Catering as a rewarding career choice. Lexington has an internal mentoring scheme to support their chefs and more recently an aspiring leadership programme, which is accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management, was launched. Lexington run multiple internal training sessions across the company over the course of the year focussing on food innovation, healthy eating, health and safety, compliance and mentoring.

 Rob Kirby, Chef Director at Lexington said ‘this award underpins the fantastic chef training given to all our chefs at all levels. For us, training and development plays a key role in in retention and keeping us at the cutting edge of the food scene.’
