Our Green Force champions Transform Local Station

On Friday 31st March 2023 a group of Green Force champions met at New Barnet station in North London for their latest volunteering challenge. Their aim was to transform a neglected border at the station entrance ready for the season ahead.

Despite the pouring rain the team were in high spirits and rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in cleaning up litter, weeding and replanting the flower beds.

The project was organised in conjunction with local social enterprise The Flower Bank who rescue flowers from retailers and events that would otherwise end up in landfill. We are proud to share that we are now collaborating with The Flower Bank to donate flowers from receptions at Lexington Receptionist Services (LRS) sites across the city.

By the end of the day the team were soaking wet and covered head to toe in mud but still smiling! Their hard work paid off and made a big difference to the location, with new pollinator-friendly plants and spring bulbs planted to bring joy to the community throughout the coming season.
