Improving Workplace Mental Health

Workplace Savings & Benefits magazine and Professional Pensions look at how employers are going about tackling mental health issues in the workplace.

Emma Langford, People Manager at Lexington, spoke to them about some of the things Lexington is doing to tackle mental health issues and the stigma surrounding mental health.

Lexington has always worked hard to provide a positive work environment that meet the needs of both the Lexington team and clients. A couple of years ago Lexington launched an employee wellbeing programme: ‘Wellbeing and You’. As well as Wellbeing Workshops for Managers and Head Chefs each month a factsheet is published focusing on a different social, mental, physical and financial wellbeing topic. Site managers are encouraged to use these as a discussion point with team members to help create and foster a culture of wellbeing within the workplace.

Emma - Lexington - TrainingEmma said:

“Individuals have commented about how they now find it easier to talk about issues and flag concerns before they become a real problem.”

Lexington is delighted to be supporting Heads Together, the mental health campaign of The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, which has been set up to change the national conversation on mental health and tackle stigma. The team will be holding a number of events and activities to raise money for Heads Together.
