Lexington Catering was awarded the 2017 Healthy Hospitality Award at the Health & Vitality Honours, which was held in the famous Long Room at Lord’s Cricket Ground, on the 26th January 2017.
The prestigious award recognises Lexington Catering’s commitment to helping customers achieve good health and wellbeing.
Mike Sunley, CEO at Lexington says, “We are delighted to win this award in recognition of the work our food and front of house teams play in helping our customers achieve positive health and wellbeing. Healthy eating has always been high on our agenda – we put a lot of emphasis on not only providing healthy and tasty food options but also explaining the benefits of alternative healthy options, to help our customers make more informed choices.”
Lexington Catering has been driving healthy food concepts following the launch of their multi award-winning Let’s Energise range in 2011 – with the aim to show healthy food can be tasty. Since then the team has introduced a number of new healthy food concepts, including:
– Their award-winning Vitalicious Juice range
– Grains&Greens – developed specifically for customers wanting a vegetarian and vegan option
Rob Kirby, Chef Director at Lexington Catering says, “Our development chefs have worked hard to ensure we cater to the unique flavour profiles and dietary lifestyles of customers with niche concepts. Whether it’s vegetarian, vegan, gluten free or organic, these options are no longer special requests but they form part of our core offerings.
“We are working hard to raise the profile of vegetarian food and by doing so we are changing the perception of what ‘vegetarian’ food can be and facilitating customers to try a flexitarian diet. As a result we are finding more customers are opting for the healthy food offers now and there is less demand for the ‘stodge’.”
