The Lexington Catering team has been celebrating this week, after scooping two awards at B&I Catering’s FSM Awards 2017.
Now in their seventh year, the FSM Awards recognise those outstanding individuals who have made a huge contribution to the industry – the exceptional talent of the contract catering world.
Matt and Nerida received the awards during a spectacular evening, with nearly 400 industry guests, at the London’s Royal Garden Hotel on Monday 20th November 2017.
Commenting on the award-win Mike Sunley, CEO at Lexington says, “Matt and Nerida both genuinely love what they do and are driven by creating the very best customer experience. I am extremely proud of the team and it’s fabulous to see them both get the recognition they deserve.”
Matt is an avid foodie. In his role at London Business School he manages a team of 18 chefs and 10 porters, looking after the 3,500 people whom work and study at the School every single day.
He has been recognised for his creativity and willingness to explore new possibilities. The team also noted his commitment to helping the wider Lexington team develop and supporting them in being the very best that they can be.
Toni Bouteldja, Director of Campus Services and Developments – London Business School, says, “Since coming to the School, Matt has transformed the food offer. The food offer at the School has improved so much that the impact was cited as a significant contribution to the Schools improved rating in the FT for Executive Education. He constantly strives to deliver the best and always wants to improve.“
Commenting on his win Matt says, “I feel privileged to have won, especially knowing how many people enter and how hard everyone works. I absolutely love what I do and it’s fabulous to be recognised for doing it well.”
Nerida took over her current site, in the heart of London, in June 2016. The site serves over 1,500 employees and she manages two cafes as well as the hospitality, vending, fine dining and events across two locations.
She is incredibly innovative and constantly looks for ways to enhance the offer and improve the offering. Nerida was recognised for her commitment to the team, marketing and communication skills and creative ways of reducing costs
Julia Edmonds, Managing Director at Lexington, says, “Nerida is a fantastic leader, who really leads by example. Her dedication to her team, client and customers and Lexington is second to none and she demonstrates a real passion in what she does.
“She creates a great first impression that leaves her team and clients with confidence in her ability to support and deliver the unique requirements that each demand. It is a pleasure working with a true dedicated professional, who I know will succeed at each level as she progresses.”
Commenting on her win Nerida says, “I am deeply honoured and incredibly humbled by this nomination. This means so much to me. I am so grateful for this opportunity and I can’t thank the Lexington team enough for all of their support, encouragement and motivation. I am particularly grateful to Operations Manager, Sean Killeen – I honestly don’t think I would have won the award without his support.”
