Lexington Celebrates Generational Diversity and Talent Development at 2024 Leadership Conference

We’re excited to share the incredible success of our 2024 Lexington Leadership Conference, where we focused on generational differences in the workplace and our commitment to nurturing great talent!

We kicked off the day with a reflection on the past 12 months at Lexington, shining a spotlight on the people who have been instrumental to our success. Our growth was celebrated with a focus on the development of our team:

  • 30 colleagues currently participating in apprenticeships
  • 25 people promoted to managerial roles between October 1, 2023, and September 5, 2024
  • 237 internal transfers since October 1
  • 50 total promotions from October 1, 2023, to September 5, 2024, including colleagues moving into supervisor or manager roles

Our Lexington leadership conference also featured updates on the company, with an emphasis on our people’s contributions and achievements:

  • Long Service Awards 2024, where seven colleagues celebrated a combined 190 years of service
  • Group Head Chefs Dan Rampat and Dang Pham joined collectives dedicated to diversifying talent in hospitality and leadership, including The Future Plate and Ethnic Future Leaders programme
  • Apprenticeship competitions across the organisation, offering young talent the chance to kickstart their careers in hospitality

Next, we hosted an insightful panel discussion on ‘Recruiting for Attitude,’ highlighting the importance of prioritising soft skills and personality, as we believe that anyone with the right mindset can learn the necessary skills for the job.  Thank you Cemal Ezel OBE (Change Please), Jo Harley (Korero), Nathalie (Fat Macy’s) and Shaun Fitzgibbon (Lexington) for being a part of this!

Our guest speaker, Andy Goram, from Purple Story followed with a deep dive into generational differences and how these play out in the workplace.

The evening wrapped up with a feast of delicious food and drinks crafted by our food team, featuring canapés inspired by classic 70s and 80s dinner party favourites, reimagined with a modern twist.
