Job Role
To assist the kitchen in producing food of the highest quality in terms of presentation and taste.
Operational Skills
Necessary Operational Skills:
- Job Knowledge, Technical Knowledge, Expertise, Customer Service
Duties:
- Ensure that cooking and presentation of food is to a constant high standard
- Ensure all time schedules are achieved when required
- To assist in the development of Commis Chefs and kitchen porters
- To understand the head chefs and customers needs in relation to the business
- To assist in maintaining all legal health, hygiene and safety records
- To assist to ensuring that the cleanliness is maintained within the kitchen
- To be totally focused on the job at hand
- Input of new ideas and food styles to assist in maintaining customer satisfaction
- To carry out all reasonable tasks expected by management
Interpersonal Skills
Necessary Interpersonal Skills:
- Effective Communicator; Verbal (Speech) and Non-Verbal (Listening), Team Worker, Team Builder, Persuasiveness, and Flexibility
Duties:
- Ensure that team building is effective to meet site and company requirements
- To ensure attendance at all chefs briefs
- Ensure attendance of all relevant training and development courses
- Ensure that there is a clear understanding of what is expected of you
- To communicate with the team and to ensure they all understand the parameters of the business through the head chef objectives
- Liaise with head chef to ensure that all work is carried out efficiently and to the correct timescales
