Job Description
Your key responsibilities as the Chef de Partie will consist of:
- Ensure that cooking and presentation of food is to a constant high standard
- Ensure all time schedules are achieved when required
- To assist in supporting the kitchen assistant with any food prep if needed
- To understand the chef managers and customers needs in relation to the business
- To assist in maintaining all legal health, hygiene and safety records
- To assist ensuring that the cleanliness is maintained within the kitchen
- To be totally focused on the job at hand
- Input of new ideas and food styles to assist in maintaining customer satisfaction
- To carry out all reasonable tasks expected by management
- In time to cover the chef manager in his absence, all training to do this will be given
Working Pattern: 40 Hours/ Monday to Friday-6.30-3.00
Skills and Experience
The experience and knowledge we are looking for from our future Chef de Partie include:
Necessary Operational Skills:
- Be able to produce great food from great seasonal produce, with an emphasis of healthy low carb options, understanding and implementing into menus various special dietary requirements and be confident in talking through the daily menu with our very inquisitive and demanding- in a good way – clients.
- We are a small team of 3, so teamwork is really important, checking the detail in all areas and dealing with them there and then.
- The café is open for breakfast and lunch serving up to 60 people a day, it is all self service and free issue. The best of it is that the kitchen is open plan so we have great communication, daily with all our clients
Necessary Interpersonal Skills:
- Effective Communicator; Verbal (Speech) and Non-Verbal (Listening), Team Worker, Team Builder, Persuasiveness, and Flexibility

- This is a fantastic opportunity for a CDP with great cooking skills to learn more about kitchen management, Company bookwork and Kitchen financial awareness , a great way to get yourself into a chef management role.
- Because of the changing nature of our business your job description will inevitably change. You will, from time to time, be required to undertake other activities of a similar nature that fall within your capabilities as directed by management.
