Wahaay…as I write this the sun is shining!
We are firmly in the British asparagus season, which is crying out to be picked and scoffed with vinaigrette or silky hollandaise.
Also look out for the first English strawberries that should be coming through at the end of the month, I cannot wait. With this early Spring ripening the berries will turn a brilliant juicy red, ready to be dipped into Jersey cream – a perfect marriage.
We have also been busy launching Grains&Greens, our new vegetarian range across the sites which has gone down a storm. There is a real buzz in the air for high energy, gorgeous, veggie dishes. The food team are already working on the next exciting range to keep our dishes fresh and seasonal.
That just leaves me to wish you all a happy month of May, eating and drinking. With the benefit of a couple of long weekend bank holidays it is the perfect time for an Asparagus starter, Spring lamb main and finishing off with perfectly ripe Strawberries – the very best of British !
