Hooray, it’s June and that only means one thing… pass the cream it’s strawberry season!
It’s going to be a busy month for our chefs here at Lexington as we have our inaugural Innovation Forum in a few weeks. We’re going to be presenting our new food philosophy, Blend, which highlights brilliant seasonal produce and ties into the healthy lifestyle eating, which we do so well here at Lex. Just last week we had a great feature in the Caterer Magazine looking at our take on veggie and vegan food at Lexington.
In season this month you’ll find broad beans, peas and of course British lamb is still eating well. From our shorelines look out for crabs, scallops and turbot which are all at the top of their game!
But who am I kidding? We all know that June is all about those freshly picked strawberries! Here’s a very simple strawberry and Champagne jelly recipe. It’s perfect for a hot sunny June day; light and refreshing and a brilliant end to a picnic or BBQ.
