Spring is finally here! This means the lambs are hopping around in the fields and best of all we should start to see the first of the English asparagus coming through! So start chopping that mint for your lamb and whipping up that hollandaise for the asparagus and you have a match made in heaven – you could even put some of the mint through your hollandaise if you wanted to try something a bit different.
Since my last blog our chefs have been busy! We took over the Premier Cheese shop (one of our suppliers) on the Portobello Road where we learnt about Montgomery Cheddar and tasted my favourite cheese of all time, Comte. I love its smooth, nutty flavour and it’s even more delicious when teamed with a big bold red!
I am so proud of two of our young chefs that have made it through to the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts Awards of Excellence. Both Jo and Hannah are through to the second stage and have just faced a gruelling full day of skills tests – we await the results as I write! #Girlpower
So now’s the time to come out of hibernation and bask in the joys of spring… gobble up all that great British produce that is growing and hopping around us!
