Love is in the air this month! Get all cosy in the month of February with big hearty soups, warm, crusty bread and big hugs!
In the winter months I love to eat big leafy cabbages pan fried in garlic and served up with honey glazed bacon and then to really finish it off nicely add in some whole heritage carrots that have been slowly braised in vegetable stock for real depth and flavour.
I promised in that last blog that I would let you know about our competition results…. well our lovely chefs won all of the classes they entered & beat off some of the best in the industry! Our Lex School of Talent Apprentice Krishan Makol was crowned Young Tilda Chef of the Year, got Gold and was named Best in Class! Brilliant results all round which underpins our place and reputation in the market.
Another top result for January was our Vitalicious Juice winning Product of the Year at the Health and Vitality Awards 2015 – amazing! Both our chefs’ success and that of Vitalicious makes all of us here at Lexington glow and keeps us warm throughout the chilly February days!
My next blog will be when the daffodils are on their way and we’re on the home straight into spring – that’s when all of our lovely British produce really starts to get going!
Keep warm and enjoy the comfort food of love.
