On the 1st October 2014, Lexington held its second ever leadership conference for managers across the business. David Francis, General Manager at Lexington Catering, gives a quick overview of the event…
As someone who has recently returned to Lexington after a brief period away (and therefore attending my first Lex Leadership Conference) it was obvious, given the content of the afternoon that the firm is as ambitious as ever – the fact it was held at one of our brand new sites is further proof that we’re growing all the time.
It was a great idea that this year’s conference focused on our core values, which of course are always at the centre of everything we do but will become more important than ever as we continue to grow.
The award ceremony formed part of the afternoon, which was both fun and inspiring. It was obvious the winners were genuinely proud of their achievements and highlighted to me again Lexington’s commitment to reward success.
The food we enjoyed at the end of the evening, which was prepared by the Lexy team, was as innovative and delicious as ever and gave me some great ideas to take back to my site.
It was a great touch to get our apprentices, from Lex School of Talent, involved in the chef’s tables as this showed just how far they have come over the past twelve months – again, you could see how proud they were serving their dishes which were enjoyed by us all.
My overall impression of the conference is that it is a great way to celebrate both company and individual successes over the past year, get a glimpse of a really positive future, whilst catching up with colleagues over a few drinks and tasty food.
